Massage can help back tension from tummy time.
Back massage is very helpful and relaxing when your baby is doing a lot of tummy time and learning how to crawl. There are 7 layers of muscles on either side of the spine that help to stabilize the spine. These can be seen when your baby is on their tummy and they do the “super human” move, arms and legs come off the ground. The spine is indented and the layers of muscles with be little mounds on either side off the spine from head to their bottom. These muscles are working overtime during tummy time and learning how to crawl. Massage on your baby’s back will help those muscles to relax after a long day of trying to get their knees underneath them.
